Tobias
Once a skittery teenager, now a still-skittery young adult. Espio loves him thoroughly, but has a nasty habit of overestimating what he's capable of. Though they're engaged, and the love is real, Espio has come to realise that they're not a well-suited couple, and each need more support in a relationship than their partner can give. However, he is reluctant to admit this aloud, and still clings to the hope of seeing Tobias again and making it work.

Ace
When Espio sank into a bitter, depressive, and even suicidal state, it ended up being Ace who dragged him out of it, even though he was a complete stranger at the time. Yes, he was a bit crazy, but Espio had finally met someone who could believe in his ideals and really support him in a way the rest of his family couldn't. In the end, Espio fell for him pretty hard, and they wound up in what was supposed to be a "casual" relationship in Toby's absence.

Namur
One of Marco's family that Espio wasn't originally all that keen on meeting. However, he has bonded with Namur to an extent, appreciating the guy's overall simplicity and straightforward nature, though it has prompted a good few facepalms from the lizard. That Namur has backed him up, helped him, and fought alongside him has certainly helped, and Espio would do the same for him in return.

Thatch
Ever since they first met, Espio has been unsure how to handle Thatch. The man seems to have some deep-seated issues and a reluctance to accept change, and despite having made a clear effort he doesn't seem entirely able to accept the new people in Marco's family. When he's not in a mood, he's not too bad, and Espio quite enjoys his company... but it doesn't take a lot to make his mood change, and that makes Espio really uncomfortable. Of all of the Sparklebird crew, Thatch is the one Espio finds the most difficult.

Fionna
Although Fionna has been accepted as one of the Sparklebird crew, Espio will admit that he doesn't know her very well at all. The two rarely got much opportunity to socialise. Espio likes what little he has seen of her, appreciating her bright and spunky personality, but other than that... perhaps he should have spent a little more time with her.

Zabala
Hooboy. Espio does not like Zabala. It's was fine up until the Island Closest to Heaven mission, but Espio found the very ideas behind that mission insufferable and in direct contrast to his ideals and morals. He. Flipped. And he still hasn't forgiven her for it, meaning that every time she made a decision it could be guaranteed that Espio would turn up to complain about it. She has won a few respect points back by just being willing to listen and occasionally even act on his complaints, but that's not saying much.
